Ken and Nancy Atkinson
The Atkinsons have been the camp's managing directors since 1982. Both have bachelors degrees in education and have a substantial background in working with children and youth . They are members of the American Camp Association, and "Certified Camp Directors." This certification is a symbol to the public of devotion to maintaining high personal professional standards for the safety and welfare of children and the camping profession.
Ken, a Colorado native, attended Geneva Glen as a camper from the age of six, and Nancy from the age of 10. They have six decades of combined experience at Geneva Glen in capacities ranging from camper to counselor, administrator to parent.
During the winter months, they devote their full time to maintaining the camp facility, corresponding with thousands of people connected with the camp and planning the program for the coming season. They also travel across the country recruiting campers, conducting staff interviews and promoting Geneva Glen.
