Minimum Qualifications

  • Training and experience in archery (documented)
  • Ability to teach archery to campers of all ages
  • Ability to set up a range, order and repair equipment
  • Desire and ability to work with children outdoors
  • Ability to relate to one's peer group
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision
  • Good character, integrity and adaptability
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
  • Current CPR and first-aid certifications REQUIRED
  • High school graduate or equivalent, or at least 18 years of age

Camp Goals

Our goal is to provide youth with a summer camp experience that: promotes the discovery of one's own dignity and worth; develops empathetic, culturally competent campers who welcome and respect all individuals, regardless of what they look like, how they identify, where they come from, their socioeconomic status, their faith and who they love; stimulate a love for and care of the natural world; develop commitments to enduring values and respect and inspire service and responsibility to foster exemplary school and community leaders.

General Responsibility

    To teach and coordinate camp's archery program, maintaining standards that lead to a quality program

Specific Responsibilities

  • Set up archery range during staff orientation
  • Conduct daily check of equipment in program area for safety, cleanliness, and good repair
  • Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials
  • Teach and monitor proper use of equipment
  • Keep records on participantâs progress
  • Conduct initial and end of season inventory, storing, and keeping equipment in good condition
  • Assist in packing materials and supplies for following season
  • Evaluate current season and make suggestions for following season
  • Fulfill all requirement as a counselor to assigned cabin/dorm
  • These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required

Essential Functions

  • Ability to teach and use equipment properly
  • Ability to set up equipment and archery range
  • Ability to maintain records of campers progress
