Minimum Qualifications
- Training and experience in rifles (documented)
- Ability to teach rifles to campers
- Ability to set up a range, order, and repair equipment
- Desire and ability to work with children outdoors
- Ability to relate to one's peer group
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Current CPR and first aid preferred
- Good character, integrity and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
- High school graduate or equivalent, or at least 18 years of age

Camp Goals

The Goal of Geneva Glen Camp is to provide experiences for children and youth that promote discovery of one's own dignity and worth; encourage respect for all races, creeds and backgrounds; stimulate love for and care of the natural world; develop commitments to enduring values; train youth as creative school and community leaders; and to empowering participators to live at their highest level and to enrich their home communities through what they have learned at Geneva Glen.
General Responsibility

To teach and coordinate camp's rifles program, maintaining standards that lead to a quality program.
Specific Responsibilities
- Set up area and program for campers during staff orientation
- Conduct daily check of equipment for safety cleanliness, and good repair
- Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials
- Teach and monitor proper use of equipment
- Keep records on participant's progress
- Give awards when merited
- Conduct initial and end of season inventory
- Store and lock bolt, bullets and rifles separately
- Pack materials and supplies for following season
- Fulfill requirements as a counselor to assigned cabin/dorm
- Evaluate current season and make suggestions for following season

Essential Functions
- Ability to communicate and teach basic safety rules with rifles
- Ability to use and teach riflery
- Ability to maintain records of campers and staff scores
- Ability to climb several stairs to get to the rifle range
- Ability to act quickly in case of emergency
