Minimum Qualifications
- Training and experience in athletic activities (documented)
- Ability to teach proper sports skills to campers of all ages
- Current CPR and first aid certifications
- Knowledge for team sports and ability to teach and referee
- Desire and ability to work with children outdoors
- Ability to relate to one's peer group
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
- High school graduate or equivalent, or at least 18 years of age
- Current CPR and first-aid certifications required

Camp Goals

The Goal of Geneva Glen Camp is to provide experiences for children and youth that promote discovery of one's own dignity and worth; encourage respect for all races, creeds and backgrounds; stimulate love for and care of the natural world; develop commitments to enduring values; train youth as creative school and community leaders; and to empowering participators to live at their highest level and to enrich their home communities through what they have learned at Geneva Glen.
General Responsibility

To teach and help coordinate the camp's athletic program, and to help maintain standards that lead to a quality program
Specific Responsibilities
- Set up camp's sports areas
- Check equipment and make or file for repairs
- Conduct initial and end of season inventory, storing and keeping equipment in good condition
- Assist in coordinating special sports events in conjunction with the camp program
- Teach staff their responsibilities in activity during staff orientation
- Write activity plans that foster camper's athletic skills
- Conduct daily check of facilities and equipment in area for safety, cleanliness, and good repair
- Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials
- Teach and monitor proper use of equipment
- Assist in packing all materials and supplies at end of season
- Fulfill all requirement as a counselor to assigned cabin/dorm
- Evaluate current season and make recommendations for following season
- These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required
