Dates: June 15 - June 28, 2025
Tuition: TBD ($2,600 in 2024)
Ages: entering 3rd-11th grade
Our two-week American Heritage session explores the spirit of the early American West. Campers from 3rd to 6th grade, referred to as “Middlers,” can earn skill tokens by demonstrating their proficiency across various activities. From 7th to 11th grade, “Senior” campers can engage in specialized skill tracks.
Options include:
- The Buckskinner track (Riflery, Archery, Survival Skills).
- The Headliner track (Drama and Performance).
- The Naturalist track (Alchemy, Preservation, Survival).
- The Range Rider track (Horseback Riding, Rifles, Survival).
- The Trailblazer track (Ropes and Survival)
The session culminates in a day-long “Rendezvous,” which recreates a vibrant frontier atmosphere. The day kicks off with a flapjack-eating contest and unfolds into a series of engaging games and activities, including fire-building, prospecting, bartering, and sharing tall tales. The evening concludes with the presentation of the “Spirit of American Heritage” award to deserving campers and staff members, celebrating their contributions to the camp community.
American Heritage focuses on community building and nurturing, making it an exceptional experience for first-time campers. It combines outdoor adventure with lessons in self-esteem and teamwork, providing a supportive and enjoyable environment for all participants.
